All weights are finished with both textured and polished surfaces, so many bottom substrate types can be better identified after pulling over them.

Custom steel swivels are used throughout.

The swivel is integrally moulded into the weights, for minimised height and removing additional connections and hinging (to minimise tangle risks and loss of vibrational feedback).

The integral hard plastic body allows for a high precision product with a unique design, construction and operation.

A spring loaded self-closing arm automatically shuts the line gate, which ensures they cannot fall off the line in use. This operation allows for easy one handed attachment and detachment from the line. The backleads do not need to flex in operation – A problem that often leads to other Back Weights coming undone (uncoupling) on the line and falling off in use.

The hard plastic clips slide on the line extremely well due to their low friction attributes. This enables them to be used without fear of snagging in the tip ring of the rod while playing a fish, and can be slid out much further on the line than is normally possible.

An integral design without additional connections or hinging linkages eradicates the possibility of them tangling on the line (even during the hardest battles).

Low centre of gravity design with a flat base means they will always orientate correctly in use.

Designed to not pass over end tackle, even if the weight/lead is ejected, so they cannot slide onto the hooklink.

Designed to not allow the weight to detach in use, to discourage unsafe angling practices (if you feel your Back Weight may get immovably snagged while playing a fish and you will need the Back Weight to detach from the line, we at Evolve Tackle feel you shouldn’t be using a ‘clip-on’ style Back Weight).

Each insert is tuned to the size of the weight, such that the insert releases from the weight with a force proportional to the size of the weight (insert releases easier for lighter weights, and harder for heavier weights), for maximum hooking efficiency and fish safety.

All inserts are supplied with ‘pegs’ to secure the swivel within the insert when fished in-line, to ensure the swivel never pulls out of the insert before the insert releases from the weight, for maximum fish safety (so in the event of a line breakage the line/leader/tubing will pull through the large bore of the weight, and not have to try to pull through the small bore of the insert – essential for a safe in-line set-up).

The In-Line Inserts have two swivel fittings (+ & -) which have different release forces, so when fished drop off (‘peg’ not used), the set-up can be tuned to suit the size of Weight being used, leader being used, and/or angling situation requirements (what force you want the swivel to pull out of the insert, and therefore how quick the Weight is dropped).

Both fittings are externally marked on the insert with an “+” & “-“.

“-“ is typically for Weights/leads up to 3oz, and “+” typically for weights/leads over 3oz (but can be used differently to achieve a specifically tuned operation).
